For large and medium sludge disposal projects, the impact of sludge treatment costs is greater. At present, there are traditional ordinary sludge filter presses and new high-pressure diaphragm filter presses on the market.

The cost structure of sludge treatment includes the sludge conditioning fee, the sludge filter press energy consumption cost, the vulnerable parts damage fee, the labor cost, and the treated sludge cake transportation cost.

Traditional sludge filter presses, such as plate and frame filter presses and box-type filter presses, have lower pressures, so lime and a large number of conditioning agents need to be added for sludge modification to reduce the difficulty of sludge dewatering. After the homogeneous and same amount of sludge is treated by the high-pressure diaphragm filter press, the output of mud cake is only 37.5% of the ordinary equipment, and the transportation cost of mud cake is also saved by more than half.

From the aspects of the sludge treatment cost, the high-pressure diaphragm filter press has been significantly improved. Therefore, it is not surprising that the comprehensive sludge treatment cost is saved by 50% -70%. In addition, the cost of sludge treatment allows sludge treatment units to quickly recover the cost of sludge treatment equipment, and to carry out sludge treatment without worries about environmental protection. Therefore, when choosing a sludge filter press, the user must comprehensively compare the factors such as the price of sludge filter press, operating cost, and environmental impact.
